Tokyo Disney Resort has announced an opening date for its new Fantasyland expansion. The expansion was originally due to open April 15, 2020, but has been pushed back due to coronavirus.

The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast will feature top-of-the line animatronics. Guests will board magical cups that “dance” in rhythm to well-known music from Beauty and the Beast, as they travel on a romantic musical adventure though scenes depicting the story of the animated film. It will feature Maurice’s Cottage at the entrance, as well as Gaston’s Fountain. The immersive land also boasts Belle’s Village with restaurants and shops, and the Beauty and the Beast Castle, where the attraction is located.

In one vignette, the film’s heroine can be seen singing and holding a lantern up in the dark, presumably searching for her father, Maurice, who is locked away in the Beast’s castle.

As guests leave the ride and enter the forest, they’ll find the Fantasyland Forest Theatre – Tokyo Disneyland’s first full-scale indoor theatre.

This is just a small part of a major $665M expansion which will also feature Big Hero 6, a new Minnie Mouse greeting area and a new show, Mickey’s Magical Music World. There will also be a small Big Hero 6” area, featuring Happy Ride with Baymax.
