Good news from Cambodia: The forced vacation seems to be over soon and the Royal government has approved to reopen public and private schools by next month.

It was confirmed that areas with lower risks will be allowed to open schools under strict regulations and with a maximum of 15 students. Priority is being given to schools in rural areas where there are no Covid19 infections and to grades 9 to 12. For urban areas with low infection rates and with vaccinations, the online learning can continue or both in-class with safety distancing and online learning can be applied.

About 58% of Cambodia’s 16 million people are already fully vaccinated and the Royal government is now vaccinating children and young people. So far, approximately 1.5 million children have been vaccinated, from among more than 2 million children between the ages of 12 to 18.
