Travel off the beaten track around Siem Reap and soak in the culture and traditions of Cambodia on our new 5 day/ 4 night Unique Discoveries & Encounters tour:

Day 1

Welcome to the Kingdom of Cambodia! In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner with a traditional Khmer Dance Performance.

Day 2

Early morning drive to Preah Dak village. Enjoy a bowl of Nom Banh Chok for breakfast before continuing to another small village to see street vendors preparing palm sugar. Visit Banteay Srei, one of the most romantic temples in Angkor. In APOPO we’ll witness how Giant African Pouched Rats are being trained to save lives! We’ll even get the opportunity to meet and see the ‘hero-rats’ in action. In the evening we’ll watch a circus with a difference! This unique show combines traditional and modern theatre, music, dance and acrobatics. 

Day 3

Wake before dawn and set off to the stunning Angkor Wat to watch the sunrise. We’ll then hop on bicycles to a hidden pagoda to meditate and chat with the monks. After changing into a sarong we’ll receive a sacred water blessing, a tradition as ancient as the temples themselves. By now, we’ll have worked up an appetite! By a beautiful Buddhist temple we’ll enjoy a delicious picnic breakfast in the open air. Next, we’ll visit the fortified city of Angkor Thom and the mysterious Bayon Temple with its huge smiling faces.

Day 4

At the floating village of Kampong Khleang we’ll explore the lake and learn about Cambodian village life. Next we’ll visit Ta Prohm Temple, which looks very much as most of the Angkor monuments would have appeared when European explorers first stumbled across them.

Day 5

Departure
