Hurghada shines in TripAdvisor’s Top Nature Destinations as Egypt prepares for Grand Egyptian Museum Opening

The Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best title, awarded to less than 1% of TripAdvisor’s 8 million listings, is given to destinations with consistently outstanding reviews. Hurghada stands out for its stunning coral reefs, turquoise waters perfect for windsurfing and proximity to the Giftun Islands and the Eastern Arabian Desert. Despite recent development and growing tourist numbers, Hurghada remains a favorite beach spot, especially for Europeans, offering some of the world’s best diving and snorkeling sites.
Egypt has welcomed 19 new hotels between 2021 and 2023, adding 3,000 rooms to its hospitality scene. These hotels are located in popular spots like the Red Sea, South Sinai, Giza, Suez, Damietta, Mansoura and the North Coast.
Also the final preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum were reviewed: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly previously led a meeting to assess the final preparations for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) opening and the development of its surrounding areas. The GEM, set to become the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization, will showcase a vast collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
Cabinet spokesperson Mohamed El-Homosany reported on the progress within the main exhibition halls and the readiness of sections like the Khufu Boat Museum and the Tutankhamun Exhibition Hall. Efforts to beautify and develop the surrounding areas, including landscaping, lighting and infrastructure enhancements, were also addressed.
