Welcome to the Year of the Ox!
Chinese New Year is the most important festival in the Chinese calendar. The festival involves a lot of preparations beforehand as many different events are held thoughout the festival. This year, Hong Kong welcomed the Year of the Ox on February 12.
The Chinese New Year Night Parade in Hong Kong is the liveliest and most colourful celebrations of the year. The parade typically features a mix of colourful floats, acrobats, costumed lions, dragon dancers, street performers, drummers and, of course, firecrackers.
This year, the celebrations were scaled down due to Covid-19.
