Entry restrictions eased

Great news from India, as the country opens its borders to fully vaccinated tourists. The rollback of the restrictions marks the first time since March 2020 that India allows foreign guests to enter the country via commercial flights.

According to the Ministry of Health, visitors must be fully vaccinated, follow all Covid19 protocols and test negative for the virus within 72 hours of their flight. An additional test is required upon arrival for some nationalities. However, travellers from countries that have mutual recognition of vaccination certificates with India, such as US, UK and many European nations, can exit the airport without a test.

Infections have dropped significantly and the number of daily new cases were just over 10,000 for more than a month. About 80% of India’s adult population have received the first dose and approximately 40% are already fully vaccinated.

With this month’s edition, we are pleased to present you the Taj Lakefront in Bhopal – the jewel in the heart of India. With mesmerising lake-facing rooms, signature restaurants with its renowned cuisines and enriching experiences, this iconic symbol of luxury is ready to be the new landmark of the city!

Bhopal is the capital city of Madhya Pradesh State and one of India’s greenest cities. There are two main lakes, and Van Vihar National Park, which is located on the banks of the Upper Lake, is home to tigers, lions and leopards. The city also offers convenient access to other prominent National Parks of Central India, such as Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Panna, Satpura and Pench.

Note: Since the entry requirements in our destinations change almost daily, we recommend that you keep yourself up to date with the latest developments on a regular basis.
