Asiatic Lions & Aramness Gir National Park

Did you know that Gir National Park is the only place outside Africa where wild lions can be found?

The wildlife sanctuary is located near Talala Gir in Gujarat on the western coast of India and was established in 1965 with a total area of 1,412 km2.

The best time to visit it is between December and May. Despite the hot temperatures during April and May, these two months are ideal for wildlife viewing and photography.

Opening in mid-October, the Aramness presents a new Indian safari experience. This 18-room village-style lodge is designed with authenticity and luxury in equal measure. Bordering Gir National Park, you can spend your days in a plethora of ways: sunrise game drives into the park; jungle walks in the teak forest; visits to a Maldhari family in their home; sampling delicious Gujarati food; relaxing at the spa or, even better, doing as little as possible whilst soaking up the natural beauty of the park and the surroundings of the lodge.
