Lifting entry restrictions

The New Year starts with great news for Laos: the lifting of all restrictions related to Covid-19 to enter the country.

It is now no longer necessary to present a vaccination certificate (vaccinated travellers) or a rapid ATK test within 48 hours before arrival (non-vaccinated travellers).

Gordon Ramsay, celebrity Brit chef, considers Laos to be “the best gastronomic destination in the world“. And CNN has once again highlighted Laos as one of the top destinations to visit in 2023, following its December feature on Pakse as one of Asia’s most underappreciated locales.

After more than two years of Covid-19 interruptions, international travel is finally picking up steam, and CNN has suggested a list of 23 nations that are deserving of visits in 2023. And one of them is Laos, a nation that has long been a favorite of tourists who enjoy the pleasures of leisurely travel.

According to the report, “it’s easier than ever to get around the country at a faster rate, shaving hours off journeys that used to take full days to travel, thanks to the 2021 opening of a semi-high-speed train.” It also emphasizes that travellers may need to make some difficult decisions because there is simply so much to see in Laos!
