LAOS
Vientiane Art Loop
The Half-Day Art Loop in Vientiane offers the perfect opportunity to dive into the city’s vibrant creative scene and explore its rich cultural heritage. This itinerary seamlessly blends traditional Lao art with contemporary expressions.
Our first stop is the Lao Art Museum, a modern space that showcases a diverse range of artworks, from Buddhist sculptures and textiles to cutting-edge pieces by contemporary Lao artists. Be sure to check out the gallery dedicated to Lao mythology and take a stroll through the peaceful sculpture garden.
Next, we visit a Textile Exhibition in Vientiane, which celebrates the country’s centuries-old silk-weaving tradition. In rural areas, young girls begin learning the craft before the age of ten, mentored by their mothers and grandmothers. The exhibition features beautiful garments like the Sinh, adorned with intricate patterns that hold deep spiritual meaning.
Our art loop concludes at I:cat Gallery, a contemporary art space highlighting works by both Lao and international artists. The gallery exhibits paintings, photography and multimedia pieces exploring themes of identity, environment and culture in Laos.
