Borders Open!
After a two-year ban on foreign tourists Myanmar announced that it will resume international passenger flights from 17 th April 2022.
Visitors must be fully vaccinated and will still be required to quarantine for a week and undergo two PCR tests. Unfortunately, it can be assumed that the quarantine will put many potential travelers off. It is therefore hoped that the entry regulations will further change.
The tourism industry in the Southeast Asian nation was battered by the pandemic withapproximately 40,000 daily Covid-19 cases last year. And since the coup in February 2021, the country has been in a state of political turmoil.
Myanmar is home to some of the region’s most spectacular and authentic travel destinations, among others the beautiful Inle Lake, Mandalay, the temple plain of Bagan and the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.
