Craft Beer Revolution

Burbrit Brewery, Myanmar’s first craft brewery, was founded in 2015 by a group of passionate beer enthusiasts. Located in Yangon, Burbrit has quickly gained a reputation for its commitment to quality and innovation, offering a refreshing alternative to the mass-produced beers typically available in the country. The brewery’s name is a fusion of “Burma” and “Britain,” reflecting the blend of local and international brewing traditions.

Burbrit’s beer lineup includes a diverse range of styles, catering to various tastes. Their flagship beers include the Burbrit Pale Ale, a well-balanced brew with a hoppy finish, and the Mandalay Strong Ale, known for its bold flavor and higher alcohol content. Other popular offerings include the crisp and refreshing Yangon Blonde, the dark and malty Irrawaddy Stout, and seasonal specials that showcase local ingredients and unique flavor profiles. Burbrit has become a trailblazer in Myanmar’s craft beer scene, providing beer lovers with a taste of creativity and craftsmanship. At the moment, the company runs six taprooms: three in Yangon, one in Nay Pyi Taw and another two in Bangkok.

Another beer-related experience in Yangon can be found at Win Star Beer Station on Sanchaung Street, a popular local hangout. Known for its lively atmosphere, this beer station offers a variety of local and international beers, making it a favorite among the locals. The relaxed, open-air setting is perfect for enjoying a cold drink while soaking in the energetic vibe of the Sanchaung neighborhood. Pair your beer with a selection of tasty Burmese snacks and grilled dishes for a truly authentic Yangon experience.
