Pokhara Paragliding
Pokhara is where many adventure sports in Nepal start and end. One of the most popular and exciting things to do in Pokhara is to go paragliding. Pokhara is also known as one of the top five places in the world to go tandem paragliding, because it has stable thermals, easy take-off and landing sites, the safety of a large lake and beautiful views of the Himalayas.
Tandem paragliding is when the glider sits in a separate harness in front of the pilot. This way, the glider can relax, take pictures and talk to the pilot while in the air. Most of the time, tandem paragliding is safe and comfortable. During peak season, there are more than 250 paragliding flights in Pokhara every day.
The place to paraglide is Mandre Dhunga in Pokhara. Its paragliding height from sea level is 1,788 metres and offers beautiful views of Fewa Lake, the valley and the surrounding Himalayas.
Share airspace with Himalayan griffins, vultures and eagles while floating over villages, monasteries, temples and lakes with views of Mount Fishtail, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
