Flower festival
The Panagbenga Festival is an annual flower festival celebrated every February which takes place in Baguio City in the Philippines.
Baguio, on Luzon Island, is a mountain town which is also called the “City of Pines”. It’s particularly popular during the summer due to unusually cooler weather.
The term “Panagbenga” is of Kankanaey origin, meaning “season of blooming”. This festival reflects the history, traditions and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras. It lasts over a month and flourishes through community spirit involvement.
The festival is highlighted with parades that are decorated with flowers of different sizes and vibrant colors presented by street dancers in flower-inspired costumes dancing to the pulsating beat of the drums.
