Six Senses – The Latest
The theme of the past year for many people has been based on gaining self-awareness and arriving at a place where they refuse to settle and compromise. We’ve waited long enough and now we want to strive for the best. Does this trend include travel? Most certainly, and what could be better than a stay in the new Six Senses hotel?
That’s right – if the excitement of the possibility of travel at our fingertips wasn’t enough, India decided to celebrate the new season of adventure with the opening of the Six Senses Fort Barwara.
Set to open in Rajasthan in September 2021, this luxury hotel is a true sanctuary of well-being. Originally owned by a Rajastani Royal Family, this beautiful 14th century fort incorporates two carefully preserved palaces and two temples with the design reinterpreting the gracious regal ambiance of a bygone era dating back 700 years. The 48 suites ranging from 753 square feet (70 square metres) are designed in contemporary Rajasthani style and offer the utmost privacy and tranquility.
The Six Senses Spa is the mecca of wellness, with a 30,000 square foot (2,800 square metre) space offering an extensive Ayurvedic whole body healing system and personalised wellness programmes combining Eastern and Western medicine. Aside from the usual spa services, you can enjoy skin analysis, sleep upgrade, group talks and an alchemy bar with a signature range of indigenous essential oils, muds, clays, and gels.
Most importantly, the hotel puts a big focus on sustainability – from the responsible restoration of the palace, lake and landscape – to energy efficiency, water and waste management, social commitment, protecting the natural surroundings, air quality and noise control.
