Espresso Emergency
It was a morning in September 2025. After breakfast at one of the 5-star hotels in Hoi An, our guests were waiting for their exciting cooking class at Red Bridge. Right in the middle of the cooking action, the wife suddenly felt dizzy, her heart racing as if she had just sprinted across the rice fields and she looked like she might faint. Our local supplier quickly guided her to a chair and immediately called the guide and our operations team.
The guide rushed over, checked on her and took her straight to the hospital for a proper examination. Once they met the doctor and described the symptoms, he listened carefully, asked a few questions and then – with the seriousness of a detective revealing the final clue – concluded that the likely cause was Vietnamese coffee overdose!
Turns out she had enjoyed her hotel breakfast a bit too much. She mentioned that the coffee tasted amazing, so she treated herself to not one but two full cups. The doctor said the signs matched a caffeine rush perfectly.
After some quick tests and about 15 minutes of monitoring, she was discharged. The guide brought her back to the hotel to rest and by the evening she was fully recovered and happily continued with the rest of her activities.
Safe to say, after this little adventure, she now truly understands the power of Vietnamese coffee!
