Paddle into Wild Paradise

Embark on a full-day sea kayaking adventure through the wild, remote waters of Northern Busuanga. Paddle past deserted islands, walk along snaking sandbars, snorkel over vibrant coral reefs and take in the raw beauty of the Calamian Archipelago – home to over 200 islands and a dazzling array of marine and wildlife.

Once fitted with your expedition sea kayak and briefed on safety and paddling techniques, you’ll set off along the coast, easing into the rhythm of the paddle. Soon, you’ll venture into Dugong Bay – so named for its population of elusive sea cows. Along the way, keep an eye out for sea turtles, leaping fish and coastal birdlife.

Whether tackling the route clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on tide and wind), you’re in for a unique adventure. This 5–9 km paddle brings you up close with the Midpid Arch, stunning beaches and the trio of Midpid Islands – all connected to the mainland by sandbars walkable at low tide.

Midday, we’ll pause on a serene Midpid beach for merienda, where hammocks are strung in the shade and a siesta is always an option. From here, continue on to Lakdayan Beach and meet members of the Indigenous Tagbanua community – guardians of these ancestral lands – who may share stories of heritage and resilience.

If time allows, learn how to harvest sea urchins with your guide before paddling back. The return route hugs a rugged headland, revealing secret coves, a sea cave and reefs teeming with life. Upon arrival, you’re welcome to snorkel before enjoying a refreshing dip in the natural spring water plunge pool.
