CAMBODIA
Infrastructure Projects
Cambodia is busy getting ready for the return of tourism with several projects to improve infrastructure. Roads and amenities in the cities of Sihanoukville and Siem Reap are currently being constructed and improved, as well as the below projects:
Siem Reap Airport
The airport construction at Siem Reap airport is confirmed to finish as planned in 2023, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The entire project includes the construction of new 4E runways, taxiways, airside stations, new terminal buildings, airport ancillary projects and supporting facilities including municipal and special highways.
Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway
The new road is scheduled to open by March 2023, at a total length of 190 kilometres across five cities and provinces. At a width of 24.5 metres with two lanes on either side, vehicles can travel at a speed of 100km per hour, so it will take only two hours to travel between the two destinations, compared with five hours at present.
