Bali – Immersive Sustainable Tour

On this full day sustainable tour, ‘Art, Artists & Villages’, we meet creative and inspiring Balinese artists in their workplace, immerse ourselves in local culture and visit a sacred water temple.

We start with a visit to Tirta Empul Temple where water from holy springs flow into the fields, supporting both people and nature. Balinese Hindu worshippers have been drawn to this temple for many years to bathe in the refreshing blessed water — a tradition that still continues today.

Our next visit is with the descendants of renowned artist Mr Ida Bagus Grebuak, whose artistic skills have been passed down through three surviving generations. We meet the family in their home and discover how they teach painting to the kids in the village. We continue to a simple workshop where exquisite gold and silver designs are being created. The artist, Mr Komang Arya, collaborates with the young people in the village. As well as jewellery, he also creates pieces for Balinese priests along with larger and more intricate artworks of dragons.

After a gentle stroll alongside rice paddies, we reach a garden with far-reaching views of the verdant fields — our venue for a delicious lunch cooked by local women in the village.

How this tour is sustainable:

  • Supports painting classes for children in a village and donates canvas/paints
  • Support a local silversmith by taking guests directly to their home and community
  • Lunch provided by local women from village in a local house
