A Pause for Nature
Please be informed that Tanjung Puting National Park, Central Kalimantan, will be temporarily closed to nature tourism activities during the following periods in 2027:
- 15–31 January 2027
- 1–15 June 2027
According to the park authorities, these temporary closures are part of ongoing conservation and ecosystem management efforts. The same closure periods are expected to be implemented in the following years.
During these dates, all tourism activities within the national park, including orangutan visits, Klotok river cruises and other nature-based experiences, will not be available.
During these closures, alternative recommended visit points in the area are: Pulau Kaja, a semi-wild sanctuary for rehabilitated orangutans, as well as Sebangau or Kutai National Park.
