Tourism Tax is Back

As announced by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, kindly be informed that the exemption of Tourism Tax (TTx) on foreign tourists staying at any registered accommodation premise ended on 31st December 2022. 

The re-imposition of Tourism Tax on foreign tourists (non-Malaysian or non-Malaysian permanent residents) staying at registered premises will be effective from 1st January 2023. 

In accordance to this update, from 1st January 2023 onwards, all foreign tourists will be charged a Tourism Tax at MYR 10.00 per room per night, and is to be paid to the hotel  upon check-in/out.
