Myanmar
A Rare Return to the Delta
The Irrawaddy Delta remains one of Myanmar’s true last frontiers – a vast, shifting maze of waterways, mangroves and remote communities where life still follows the rhythm of the river. Until recently, much of this region was difficult to access, but it is now set to become far easier to explore in comfort and depth aboard Pandaw’s small expedition ships.
From November 2026, Pandaw will take a careful first step back into Myanmar with a 10-night circular expedition from Yangon into the Irrawaddy Delta. The programme will operate on a very limited basis aboard either the 14-cabin RV Kanee Pandaw or the 10-cabin RV Kha Byoo Pandaw.
This journey is designed as an authentic exploration of a region rarely visited, even in the past. Guests will experience a tapestry of river life, from floating villages and traditional fishing communities to dense mangrove forests and ever-changing tidal channels. It is an intimate, slow-paced voyage into a Myanmar few outsiders have ever truly seen.
Pandaw is approaching this relaunch with care and responsibility, operating only in areas that are continuously being assessed as suitable for safe navigation and meaningful engagement.
Given the very limited capacity and early-stage relaunch, Pandaw is initially inviting a selected group of partners to explore this opportunity ahead of wider release. Demand is expected to concentrate quickly due to the exclusivity and scale of the programme.
