Myanmar
Beyond The Headlines
Myanmar has been popping up in the news from time to time – most recently because of the devastating earthquake near Mandalay on 28th March 2025. Understandably, many potential travelers are asking: what’s actually going on? And is it possible to travel to Myanmar right now? So, here’s a quick update on the situation from our team in Yangon.
While Myanmar has faced its share of headlines, the reality on the ground – especially in the main tourist regions – is much calmer than many imagine. For travelers, the country remains not only welcoming but also safe to explore, especially with the right support. Our local team is deeply experienced and fully committed to making every trip smooth, safe and unforgettable. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be treated like a VIP. We provide dedicated, knowledgeable guides to accompany you throughout your journey, ensuring you’re never alone and always in good hands.
With fewer crowds and warm hospitality everywhere you go, this is a special time to experience the beauty, culture and kindness of Myanmar.
Yangon, the country’s largest city, is a vibrant blend of colonial charm and local life, with golden pagodas like the iconic Shwedagon rising above bustling streets and leafy neighborhoods. Bagan remains one of Southeast Asia’s most breathtaking sights and still welcomes visitors – thousands of ancient temples scattered across a dusty plain, perfect for sunrise hot-air balloon rides or leisurely e-bike adventures. And for a laid-back beach escape, Ngwe Saung on the Bay of Bengal offers long stretches of quiet sand, gentle waves and fresh seafood in a relaxed seaside setting.
At the moment, we are not offering tours to Mandalay and its surrounding areas, as well as Inle Lake and Ngapali Beach.
Tourism helps support local communities and keeps Myanmar’s cultural spirit alive. If you’re up for a meaningful journey off the usual tourist track, this is a great time to go.
