Completed in 1921 during the British colonial era, the bridge stretches nearly 100 metres across a picturesque valley and is famous for being built almost entirely of stone, brick and cement, with very little steel. Local legend says that the steel originally intended for the bridge was redirected for use during the First World War, leading local craftsmen to create this remarkable all-masonry structure.
